St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church
Diocese of the West
About Us

Our History:

In 1987, our church originated as a mission from St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Cathedral in Los Angeles. His Grace Bishop Anton, on behalf of his Eminence Metropolitan PHILIP, formed the mission, giving us our name, St. George. We celebrated together the Divine Liturgy in various locations until we were blessed with our permanent home. Through the efforts, prayers, and support of our parishioners, we purchased our current church property on September 5, 1997.

Consequently, our parish was blessed with the Very Reverend Father George Manneh, who was our parish priest from 1998 to 2017 and subsequently retired.  In 2017, our parish was once again blessed with the Reverend Father Mansour Azar who continues to serve our parish.  In May of 2004, our church altar was consecrated during a special dedication ceremony celebrated by his Eminence Metropolitan JOSEPH.

Our Mission:

We believe in "One God, The Holy Trinity, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit."  We preach the Gospel to all as the Lord directed us to do.  We strive to encourage everyone, of all ages and races, to visit with us and learn about our Orthodox Christian Faith.  We plan to achieve this through community outreach projects and youth involvement.
